Empathy Mart has long relied on Charity Navigator to vouch and vet non-profit charities based on where their finances are focused. This past week; however, transparency of non-profits has increased thanks to a new website from New York-based Impact Matters. Already solidified as a partner with Charity Navigator, who will be publishing their information on their own website starting in December, Impact Matters rates charities according to "the amount of good" each dollar earns. They have already cataloged and rated over 1,000 US-based charities across the country. The biggest addition Impact Matters brings to the table? "ImpactMatters tells would-be donors what each contributed dollar accomplishes for each of its rated charities. It also has an impact calculator, which enables donors to choose a cause (hunger, homelessness, veterans, health, poverty, climate change, clean water, education), enter a donation amount, and then see a list of nonprofits and the economic effect of that donation amount." For more information visit ImpactMatters.org and see this article posted in the New York Times: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/22/your-money/ratings-charities.html
